If Australia is to become one of the most active countries globally and have the next generation of athletes ready for Brisbane 2032, we need to know where we stand currently and also what do young people really want.
The latest Australian Physical Activity Report Card was published in March 2022, providing a rating of supports for children’s physical activity. A strong collective approach is needed for us to improve and aspire to be closer to the top of the global benchmarked outcomes from 60 countries.
Exploring the Healthy Active Kids Scorecard will guide us to the global reality and the innovative work that VicHealth is investing in will guide us in future thinking.
Our speakers on this topic include:
Kylie Hesketh, Chair Active Healthy Kids Australia Committee Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity, Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, Deakin University
Sarah Loh, Executive Manager – Future Healthy Group, VicHealth
